Our Practitioners

DR. REGIS F. ACOSTA, M.D

Dr. Acosta has been certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2000. He completed his psychiatric residency training at New York Medical College and West Virginia University and a Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Tulane University School of Medicine. He has practiced psychiatry for over 25 years in several capacities, including as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Tulane University School of Medicine, Staff Psychiatrist and President of the Medical Staff at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital, and a Consultant in correctional facilities. He’s particularly interested in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders and psychological trauma.

DR. ELIZABETH BURNS, D.O.

Dr. Burns, “Liz”, is a resident of South Jersey, born and bread. She holds a double-board in Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. After she completed at Trenton State College majors in Biology and Psychology in 1984, she completed in 1990 her medical school at UMDNJ-SOM. She then completed in 1995 her psychiatric training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. During her career, she worked for Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, Ancora Psychiatric Hospital , and private practice since 2008. Her commitment to continuing education and decades of experience guides her compassionate care of children and adults patients. She is particularly passionate about he treatment of ADHD and Developmentally Disabled children.

DR. LOUIS BECKER, PsyD.

Dr. Becker has over 30 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. In 1994, he completed an MSW degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy. Subsequently, in 2006, he received his doctorate, PsyD, from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The state of NJ licenses him as a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Dr. Becker also has ample administrative experience, including his current position as Director of Psychological Services and Training Director of Pre and Post-doctoral students for a large NJ psychiatric hospital. He is passionate about the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety disorders and depression, among other conditions.

YVONDA M. VILLAREALE
Office Manager

Ms. Villareale is a trained social worker who previously worked with the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation. She has managed our office since 2003, bringing years of experience, empathy, and professionalism to our clinical operations. Ms. Villareale is deeply committed to creating a welcoming, compassionate environment for all patients and she is especially attuned to the unique needs of children and older adults.

TERESA SIEBEL
Senior Administrative Staff

Ms. Siebel joined our team in 2010 and brings both technical skill and warmth to her role. She has completed professional training in medical coding, and she prides herself on making each patient’s interaction smooth, accommodating, and respectful. Ms. Siebel is an essential part of our day-to-day operations and a consistent, friendly presence for returning patients.

GWEN MAGALLANES
Administrative Assistant

Ms. Magallanes is the newest member of our administrative team and often the first voice you’ll hear when calling our office. She expertly manages our high call volume and ensures timely communication between patients and providers. Gwen is known for her professionalism, efficiency, and thoughtful demeanor — qualities that have earned her consistent praise from both patients and colleagues alike.

R. JOSEPH ACOSTA, J.D.
Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Acosta is a graduate of the University of Rochester and holds a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, where he specialized in legal innovation and technology. He brings extensive experience in the application of artificial intelligence to legal research, as well as expertise in coding, web design, and digital infrastructure. In addition to managing all technological operations in our office, he also hosts a widely read literary website. Mr. Acosta ensures that our internal systems run smoothly.
